Strange smell when running

Hi,

I recieved an ex-display Kenwood KMC560 today. And I tested the speeds with the whisk and water in the bowl. I noticed strange smell when I was changing the speeds. The smell is slightly metalic. I also noticed a bit of oil on the sides. The smell is a bit similar if you run an old motor. Is that normal? If it going to damage the product if I continue to use it?

Thanks in advance.

This sounds like normal operation for this sort of accessory. Unless you smell something *burning* you likely don't have anything to worry about
