Intermittent restart in some programs

When reading my email and playing a few different games the iPad completely shuts down and restarts or just kicks me out of the program and goes back to the home page. Extremely annoying! I have tried resetting the iPad to it's original set-up and did a full restore through iTunes. Helped for a couple of days. Now it is back to the same annoying behavior! Anyone have the same issue? Is a full restore along with wiping out all the programs my only alternative?
