Removing stand for VESA bracket

I have a 2014 iMac 5k that I will be replacing the screen. Since I'll have it apart is it reasonable to remove the stand for a VESA bracket and does anyone know what part I'll need to install? If it requires grinding/sawing on the computer I'll pass on that part of the project. Your help is appreciated!

Answer this question I have this problem too

Apple never offered an upgrade kit for the 'Thin Series' models.

You could order one with the VESA mount already present: Buy iMac with Built-in VESA Mount Adapter.

While you can replace the foot, I don't know of anyone ever trying to manufacture a VESA mount for this series

If this is that important, I would sell my system and buy a new one with it. The amount of work and the risks are just to great to attempt.
