LCD dims altogether when fully seated or when digitizer gets close

I have an iPad 2 bought off eBay. After putting in a new logic board, it's either very dim or it goes dim once the digitizer is lowered (I'm powering this on to make sure all systems are good before adhering the glass to the device). Sometimes, the LCD will be fine but once I lower the digitizer, it dims or turns off. When I could get the digiziter down w/o it doing that, then I couldn't get slide the lock off. I doubt it's a broken digitizer as I've tried 2 others. I can't do the power +home button trick to reset or do the other reset. I've doublechecked that everything is sitting correctly in the case. The digitizer glass sits flush with the bevel.

I'm stumped and really don't want to buy any more parts. Any ideas? TIA.

Either badly seated or damaged LCD ribbon cable. May be worth a try testing it with another LCD if you can.

It was the LCD cable. Good call!
