Buttons and zoom not working

I have a Canon G5X and it appears all the buttons have either locked or have been disabled, the zoom is also not working. Why is this? Is there a specific button which can be pressed to reactive these buttons? The camera ran out of charge whilst attempting to take a photo and then recharge shortly after. When turned on the buttons did not work.
