Replaced battery but still not charging, does not even show charging
I have an iPod Classic 80 GB A1238
The problem began when it kept saying needs charged even after being on the charger for days, would never boot past that screen. After researching decided that it must be the battery and it needed replaced. I received my battery yesterday and installed it, plugged it in to the main charger but still nothing, does not even say it is charging.
Check using another main charger but still nothing and my other devices show they are charging using those same chargers.
If I plug it in to the USB port on my computer, iTunes pops up and begins loading the iPod (but the iPod does not show in the iTunes window or on the laptop, and nothing is going on on the iPod screen), but I then get an error in iTunes that says "iPod Software Update Server Could Not Be Contacted. The Server does not support this version of iTunes", there is no error code. If I press more information it takes me to all the steps to check, and I have and still nothing.
I have tried to reset it by holding down the buttons but nothing. Maybe I just got a bad battery? I am by no means a techie, so I don't know where to go from here.
Is this a good question?
