How to reconnect wire for right ear in the right way?

I had a dog chew on my headphones and pull out the wire that connects the left cup to the right. In this model the wire comes from the device, into the left then from there into the right. I have determined that the wire from the right speaker should be fine after doing an in-line splice to add new length.

The issue is that I do not know in what way the connection needs to be made from the green and red wires of the right speaker to the left. Here are a few pictures of my current situation: http://imgur.com/a/aMnOB

I have these wires with the metal tip for testing, yet when I have music playing out of the left and I'm touching these leads from the right, I get no results. I'm hoping that when I go to solder them that will be fixed, however before soldering I need to know exactly where they need to go.
