Battery optimization and ventilation clean up to prevent overheat?

Hello everyone,

I hold a 2,9Ghz Intel Core i7, 8Gb RAM MacBookPro Unibody 2012, that formerly ran on a 126Gb SSD. I have just replaced the SSD (which was full), with a 480Gb Crucial BX200.

Since the 126Gb went full, and even though I replaced it, I have noticed that my Mac tends to overheat ... I therefore have some questions:

- Concerning the battery usage, I often hear just about every option possible: is it preferable to stay on mains, loading the computer from 80% to 100% then unplugging and repeating when it drops to 80% ? I heard that going from 0% to 100% uses a "battery life" of the Mac, which has a restricted number of battery lives.

- Should I clean up the ventilation ?

Thank you in advance,

Have a great day,

Margaux
