How to replace HD with SSD

I'd like to replace the stock HDD with a SSD. Is there some recommendation for SSD, Bracket compatible with the SSD and any other hardware to spoof the thermal sensor?

For example, will the OWC Cable Kit help for the thermal sensor issue?

If using a Samsung SSD (840 or 850), what bracket could work?

Any other kit?

Thank you in advance

Your system has a SATA II (3.0 Gb/s) HD SATA port. So if you plan to swap out the HD drive make sure you get a SSD that will run at SATA II.

Your systems HD is a 3.5" and the SSD is 2.5" so you'll need an adapter frame here. At to the thermal sensor you'll need to get an optical drive thermal sensor to replace the one that's currently internal,of the HD.

The other direction here is instead of a swap out of the HD, swap out the optical drive instead. Here you don't need to worry about the adapter frame or sensor.
