My phone brightness doesn't go up. The colors just become darker and more defined when I turn the brightness up. I can't get the actual brightness up after I dropped it.

if your phone has an lcd screen instead of an amoled then it is possible that when you dropped your phone that you somehow damaged your backlight in the phone. depending on the phone this can be an inexpensive fix with just a new screen and the know how on how to replace them. One great thing is that this site which we are currently on Ifixit.com has a number of walkthroughs and videos to show you how to do this. Chances are the backlight coil(s) have gone bad. These are on the logic board.
