Top screen is black but the backlight/sound still work

My A button was sticking so I figured I'd get in there and clean it without any issues however my recklessness really screwed me here. I was using an old screwdriver and stripped one of the screws so I drilled the head off (http://i.imgur.com/ajfxbdZ.jpg).

The second reckless thing I did was leave the bumper cables plugged into the sockets while I repositioned everything which resulted in me snapping the cables in half (http://i.imgur.com/jMi37xI.jpg). After I snapped the cables I carefully removed them and all their pieces, inspected the motherboard for any damage, and made sure I didn't somehow displace anything else.

At this point I still haven't touched anything aside from the bumper cables/screws so I put everything back together and check to see if my system still boots. Everything seems fine, my touch screen has no issues, all my buttons work, the backlight and sound seem perfectly functional. It's just my top screen that's black, nothing I do will get it to show a picture.

I googled around looking for similar issues which is how I found this site. Everything I read suggested it was a loose ribbon cable coming from the topic screen. Since then I have disassembled my system many times to reseat cables, try them pushed in at different lengths, ensure everything is plugged in the right way but not much has changed. My Home Button/Microphone don't work but I'm certain I just need to work with the ZIF connectors a bit more to fix those.

Any idea what could be the cause? Have I permanently damaged the motherboard with my recklessness? Does the top screen just need the bumper cables to work? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's an album I threw together of my motherboard in case it's needed. http://imgur.com/a/8rSl1
