Here is an article with a general overview of what to consider when changing a WLAN card.

Here is a post from the HP forum detailing someones upgrade from the same card

Basically:

1. Identify wither or not your card is full or half size, the ralink 3290 is half size.

2. Identify how many antenna it has, the ralink 3290 has 2.

3. Find a card that is similar.

4. Make sure there are divers available for the new card.

5. Buy the card.

6. Install it.

It's half size.

Got 2 antennas.

It would be grateful if you could do some research and actually give me the model for the adapter.

I am not very good with computers

Hi Conor

Thanks you so much for the help.

Just one last question before I order the above Intel Wireless Adapter.

According to the post from HP forum you mentioned to me, will it follow hp whitelist and will my laptop pick the adapter; is it compatible with my laptop's model.
