Um you open up the Xbox and dust it get all of dust. Because the sensor that notices the game being injected is covered with dust or some other materia/ particles there for it can’t read that your trying to insert the disc once you dust it and make sure the sensors are completely covered in dust it should be able to read and the and the laser lens tray should work normally And it will automatically isn’t the game in normally and Be able to read the game

Sounds like you need a new disc drive. Theses drives are one of the weak points of the Xbox Ones. Every once in a while I've found one that can be fixed but most of the time it's better to replace the drive.

Any idea on the price of one iv seen them vary on eBay would that be my best bet?

by

Ebay or Amazon would work fine as long as they are a reputable seller.

For anyone else who encounters this issue: Try a hard reset by pressing and holding the power button on the console for 10 seconds, once it powers off, power it back on. Resolved the issue for me, but if that doesn't do it, repair/replacement is likely your best bet.

Ok, so I had this same problem after replacing the disc drive. It doesnt pull as well as the eject button doesnt work. I' ve tried the hard reset several times still nothing and am having no luck find any information on this.

Hey I've had this problem every once in a while for a few months now and I haven't had to replace the disc drive. I found that if you have this problem, just do the manual eject, even if there's no disc in, then try to put your disc in. This always works for me and it'll keep you from having to buy a new drive for you're Xbox. If this doesn't work then replacing the drive is probably your best bet.

Just did this it worked like a charm! Thx

This worked for me also

I tried hard reset and everything else first with no luck..

I've noticed this happens after my son leaves a game cover over the exhaust fan on the top of the Xbox and plays for several hours, generaly after this I have the issue...

Wouldn't mind giving it a clean out too and see if that helps it in the long run.

I tried the manual eject hole in the side and nothing happened! until I discovered there was no bloody disc in it! now I think I may have damaged it because I have to force the disc in and it won’t read it

I installed a new disc reader now I have no problems, the only thing you have to do is take out the small circuit board from the old drive, hope this helps

Where did you pick this disc drive up from I’ve stripped down the Xbox as it was second hand and really dusty. Cleaned everything out. And will boot fine and work fine on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth but when I go to put a disc in nothing happens won’t even acknowledge the disc is there

Hi, I think I got the drive from amazon, what you have to do is take the small circuit board out of the old drive and put it into the new one, otherwise it won't work

by

Does the disc drive make any noise at all? If so it may be worth tearing it down and cleaning it.
