Hi,

Look in Device Manager to check the status of your Sound controller.

(To get to Device Manager press the Win key and the x key together and a window will appear on the left of the screen. There should be a link to Device Manager, alternatively select the Control Panel link in the same window and then select the Device Manager icon).

Once the Device Manager window is open, scroll down and find the Sound, Video and Game Controllers entry, click on the arrowhead to the left of the entry to expand the tree and then find the Audio controller entry.

If there is a red cross next to the entry, right click on the audio entry and in the window that opens select enable.

Go back and see if your audio now works.

If there is a yellow exclamation mark next to the Audio entry, right click on the Audio entry and then select the Properties option. A new window will open. Check what is written in the Device Status box in the General tab.

Try selecting the Driver tab and then the Update Driver option and then the Search Automatically for updated driver software link and follow the prompts.

Hopefully if new driver software is downloaded and installed you will no longer have the yellow exclamation mark next to your Audio controller and your sound will be working.
