Why won't my 3DS XL turn on?

The 3DS is fully charged. When I press the power button the blue light turns on for a moment, and it makes a noise like it wants to power up, but it does not turn on either of the screens and the blue power light turns back off. The same thing happens if I hold down the power button or if I try to turn it on while its plug into the power outlet.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Does it make a sort of popping sound then powers off?

If so I've had that problem (It made me panic so bad) and all I did was sit on it for a couple of minutes and it worked again.

If you're hearing a "snap" or "popping" sound with a quick white flash on the screen(s). Then you have fault in one of your wires. I have a 3DS XL I'm working on with the same issue. After completely dismantling the system, I found that the speaker ribbon had a 1 mm tear in it that cut 2-3 wires. This was stopping the system from turning on.

I'm still waiting to put the system back together as the system has a busted shoulder in the middle frame as well but I will certainly be back to confirm if this was the entire problem.

*EDIT 5/5/16*

My suspicions were correct, the speaker ribbon tear was the cause of the problem. I was also concerned about another small tear in the upper LCD right at the connector but luckily that didn't stop the system from turning back on. Although now I'm having a new issue with the 3DS XL as the touch screen only works on the very bottom and right. I'll need to see if that's due to a improper connection on the board or if I need to swap that touch screen out.
