How much would it cost to replace the LCD display?

Last night I dropped my tablet (in its case) about 2 feet off of a coffee table onto carpet. It fell on a corner, and that part of the display was dim compared to the rest. This morning the display doesn't turn on at all, but the soft keys turn on indicating the tablet is functioning. The screen is not cracked. Does anyone have an estimate for this level of repair? The logical answer is buy a new tablet. But if a repair would be $200 vs $500 for a new tablet I'll take the former. Thoughts?
