Can't Screw in Battery Cover

I unscrewed the battery cover on my SP, replaced the battery, and now it won't screw back in! No matter how much I try, it screw back into place.

Options

Is this a matter of screws being stripped, screwdrivers being the wrong gauge, or the faceplate being upside down? Either way, use a triwing, not a philips. They're stupid cheap and this site has secure servers.
