Why won't my mixer turn on?

My mixer is plugged into the wall but it still will not turn on and I can't figure out why. I can slide the speed lever and press the quick burst button but nothing happens.

If you can hear the power button clicking but the device will not turn on, it could be because of a faulty power cord or a bad connection somewhere in the device.
