It's hard to find disassembly guide for laptop computers, other than MacBooks. Start by removing the screws from the bottom of the laptop using a PH0 or PH00 size screwdriver (tiny phillips). Use a fingernail or toothpick to separate the bottom casing from the top. Open it just enough to slide a metal spudger about 1/8 inch into the device. Now, use a twisting motion to the spudger to pop the clips off that hold the bottom case on. You may have to apply some force to the spudger to release the clips that hold the two pieces together. Work your way around the laptop, minding that the spudger could get caught on several different components inside of the computer, and working around those.

At this point, the construction of laptops varies greatly. Asus may have chosen to make the entire upper case and keyboard one piece, or they may have made them two pieces. If it is one piece, then replacement will be more simple, with the keyboard going with the upper case. If it is two pieces, then you may have to use a plastic spudger to unclip the keyboard from the upper case frame then push it either in or out.

Gaining access to the upper case may be difficult, and may require the removal of the logic board, battery, speakers and other daughter boards. TAKE PICTURES along the way, to aid in your reassembly of the computer. IF THE BATTERY IS GLUED IN, DO NOT FORCE IT OUT! Doing so may cause dangerous bends, punctures and even fires. Instead, use flat end of a plastic spudger to slide underneath one corner of the battery and work your way up gradually.
