How do I install a new usb port for a blackberry 8830?

a very small soldering iron and a lot of skill! On the 8830, the traces (the electrical connections the USB are soldered to on the motherboard) are VERY Fragile. If you you do not have the USB Port 100% loose from those connections and try to remove it, you will pull the traces off the motherboard and ruin it. There is no way to repair it...Dead BlackBerry. My suggestion is to use a BlackBerry repair facility, like PDA Repair World or PDAsmart and have them repair it. If you have never done it, I can guarentee with 99.9999% certainty, you will ruin the board.

I found a guy in Gilbert, AZ who has an EBAY shop, he replaces the USB ports for <$50. Good friendly work. — Steve Parkhurst
