The Magellan RoadMate 1440 is a portable GPS navigation unit with an LCD color touch screen. It was released in March 2009. It is identifiable by checking the model number listed on the label on the back of the device. It has an SD card slot on the top and a small USB connector on the opposite side. The device is only available in black.

Why is my device using a different language?

The device is providing instructions in a language I don't recognize: how do I change the device language?

You need to change the system language on your device. Go to the main menu, and from there select "system", "system settings", and then "languages". Here you can select the device language of choice.
