Camera lens is off centered?

So no, I didn't drop my camera. But it just started happening when I took a polaroid of my cat today. I had lined it up with the view finder, and every time only got the head of my kitten, or the back side. I'm not sure why it is out of wack, or why none of my polaroids are capturing what I'm aiming at. Any one know of anyone I could possibly send my camera to for it to be fixed? Or how to fix this issue my self? Thanks so much!

Answer this question I have this problem too

Let me guess: you tried to take a picture of your feline from up close.

Cameras like the Instax don't work well up close, their optics are not designed for that.

The most important reason is that the viewfinder and the lens are a few inches apart, therefore the lens doesn't see the exact same thing the viewfinder sees - what the pros call parallax error. When you're taking pictures of something at 4 ft away the error is negligible, but at 1 ft the error is considerable. The SLR camera was invented for this reason: what you see in the viewfinder is exactly what the lens sees.

Bottom line: probably, your camera isn't broken. You just tried to use it for something it's not really good at.

I have that problem too but I think that the best thing to do is take is to best buy and have them figure out what is wrong that's my plan.

I just got the Mini 11. In the instructions, there’s a tip for closeups. You need to compensate for the offset that @flyingdutchman mentioned.

I've just started tinkering with a  Polaroid instamatic Now. The photos are all off centre. Quite a ways off centre.  A little research tells me the Viewfinder and lens are not aligned. Gives you something to be considering at all times. Not so much instant fun, as irritating.

Anyone got a quick fix rule of thumb? or a way to fix the problem?
