Why is my drill not charging?

I just bought my drill a few months ago, I went to use it today after it has set for a while and it wont drive my screw. I keep it plugged in over night before I know I am going to use it. Is it possible that I killed the battery? The drill has worked great up until now. Even with hours of charging the battery dies after three screws if I'm lucky.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Hey Ray,

It sounds like it is possible that you have overcharged and damaged your battery. This drill's charger is not a trickle charger so leaving it plugged in will damage it. Luckily there is an easy fix. Check out our troubleshooting pagefor replacement guides.

I’ve had problems sourcing replacement charger for Black and Decker 12 volt battery. Today I hooked the battery up to a small solar panel 12 volt charger and it has come alive! Put the positive clip onto the large side panel and the other one into the clip on the other side and away it went. John
