Microphone has stopped working

The microphone on my Nexus 5 has stopped working. Nobody can hear me while in a phone call, the phone doesn't respond to 'OK Google', and apps like a voice recorder don't pick up anything. I've factory reset the phone with no change. Is this something that can be fixed? If so, how? Thanks!

Hi Jason

There are few ways of trying to fix by yourself without changing parts inside the phone.

Here is video of fixing the problem. I do not know if it is going to work but nothing to lose if you try.

10 minutes and a piece of rolled-up electrical tape later and my microphone is back! Thank you very much!

Did this fix and it works for a short time. The issue is that the screws have loosened up and the main plug from the power/mic unit is becoming loose.

Eventually your going to have to replace that mother board like I did.
