Proper Part for iPod MC297LL?

My iPod classic 160GB earphone jack got bent to the point that audio only came out on one earphone. I gave it to a electronics repair shop and they replaced the audio jack cable but could not get audio to work and now it sounds like static and when you pressure the jack to the left the audio improves greatly. I was wondering if since I got model number MC297LL they got the thin or thick audio jack confused and installed the wrong one. I also was wondering if the right parts can be got since they appeared to be out last time I checked here. If I could get the right part for 15 dollars I might try to get it back up because it would save me hundreds of dollars.

-Thanks

@kwjameblond this "when you pressure the jack to the left the audio improves greatly." would not be an issue if the "thick" or "thin" got messed up. It sounds like a bad audio jack. Replace it once more with a part from here

Thanks for the response, now how would I know if it was thin or thick?

There is really is no good way that I know of. You could use a kitchen scale and weigh your iPod The "thick" is ~5.7ounce's/163g and the "thin" is ~4.9 ounce's/137g. Check your serial number on this site and see what it tells you.
