I replaced the front panel which included a home button and everything works perfectly except the home button does not work at all. I can press down around the home button and Siri comes up but the button itself does not work. Has anyone else had this issue before?

Did you buy the screen with the home button or did you solder a new IC chip to the screen. If you didnt buy the screen with the home button, I would suggest buying a screen with the home button. There is a small metal bracket that has two pin holes to hold the home button, it might be possible that the small metal bracket is bent down and not allowing the home button to activate and release.
