Big Scratch on 3ds cover affecting Screen?

I know this sounds a bit overrating, but this is my limited edition SMB 3ds, so you can see my concern. There's a big chip on the front cover of the system. It's not big deal, barely noticeable- but when I'm playing, the spot on the top screen is broken and doesn't display what it's supposed to display, instead just a jumble of colors. I know I might be overrating a tad, as It's not THAT big of a deal, but it still gets quite annoying....

Hi MeDerpy,

It's possible that when the front cover chipped, a piece of debris lodged itself between the display and the cover. Even light pressure on a screen can cause distortion. It's also possible that the impact damaged the screen itself. You can access or replace the display using this guide. Hopefully, this helps.
