Hello,
By accident my ipod nano 5g ended up in the washing machine. Now the battery, the wheel and the backlight are not working. I saw you could order a new battery and also a new display (I guess that would fix the backlight?). But is there some way to fix the wheel?

The click wheel attaches by a small ribbon cable to the logic board.
It's possible that the click wheel is fine but that the logic board is damaged by water.
I once had an ipod that would only sporadically recognize the click wheel. It turned on and off sometimes when it wasn't supposed to....it was a logic board problem.
If it is only the click wheel it is a super easy replacement piece.
