Black screen but phone is still on

Ok so someone did the 1970 date thing on my phone so i opened the phone and disconnected the battery and that worked but my front camera and earpiece stopped working so i ordered a new proximity cable and after i changed that the screen went black but i still hear alerts and vibrations so its still working but i cant see anything. Whenever i do a soft reset after it turns on for a split second but then goes black again

Same issue on my iPhone 6. At first it was blank, and the battery is drained to 2.95 V now. I have no idea what is happening.

When you took off the flex cable metal cover for the LCD, front flex cable assembly. Did you put the screws back properly?

It looks something like this:

The long screw always go on the top right of the metal plate, while the small screws go on the other screw holes. If you put the long one on the board one. You most likely have cut the circuit lines on the mainboard that connect to the backlight IC or etc.

Not sure if this is fixable. It is on the iPhone 5 and 5s at least. I think a mobile phone specialist re-wire's the broken circuit.

Sounds like backlight IC / fuse is blown. Go to a mobile phone technician to get it repaired / replaced.
