During phone calls other person can't hear me

Callers are unable to hear me. I'll bang the phone a couple of times and sometimes the mic works. I don't think the mic is bad, it's the mic connection that is bad.

Vibrate hasn't worked for a year now. Since I had it repaired for broken glass.

Thanks

your microphone is gone. the fact, that it only works sometimes means, theres no perfect connection there.

you need to follow this guide:

iPhone 3G Dock Connector Replacement

you can see, step 17 is where you take the dock connector out. on that assembly, there is small rubber cap, hidding the actuall mic. instead of changing it, i would rather change the whole assembly. the work is not worth it, there is too many things that can go wrong in case of soldering the mic off and on again...

It's a problem with the Mic connection and not the Mic. When I press the bottom right side of my iPhone, the mic works. So, I opened up the iphone and added a thin layer to keep the mic connection pressed. You can find the connection easily on the bottom right of the iPhone. This solved the problem.
