No screen backlight. Even after screen replacemen

Hello all

I seem to be having an issue with my screen backlight. It doesn't seem to want to turn on at all.

I reset the PRAM/NVRAM the power management etc etc. All that fun stuff.

I have also tried using a screen. Yes, the backlight works on the other screen since I took it off one of my daily drivers.

I have no issues using a external display. Everything shows up fine. If I shine a light on the screen I can see everything and if I try and raise the brightness that bar pops up and it says the brightness is all the way up.

I have replaced the left I/O board just in case anyone suggest that.

I'm all out of ideas. I can't see it being an logic board issue since the screen works but doesn't wanna kick the backlight on.

Anyone got any other ideas?

Do still have the original display the system came with? If you do locate the display info on the back of it. Apple had two different versions of this display for this system and you do need to make sure you use the correct one for the system you have.

yep original is on it now. same display since the numbers match up. its just really odd. i thought the infamous gpu issue got to it but when i looked closely i saw that the display was on and it was sitting at my desktop. tried all of the above. i cant see it being the gpu since it displays externally and on the built in display but with no backlight.
