An easy way to tell if the sanding pad needs replacing is to see if the sanding pad feels smooth. If it does, the sanding pad has lost it's grit and needs replacing.

Three things:

- When you start getting swirl marks.

- When it feels like substantially more effort is required to do routine tasks.

- When it stops wanting to stick.

PS...Did you mean Sanding Disc?
