Screen Glitchy After Replacement

Hi i recently received a screen and everything was Fine . I installed everything correct except the front camera without the plate because i was lazy so i just put it in there without the metal bracket and the camera worked fine .. Although i did not install the back plate to go behind the digitizer as i noticed there was a piece of tape attached to the lcd cables ..so the first time i attached it to the back of the bare Digitizer.. It was still having touch problems ( holding keys... Certain words not typing, screen swiping ) etc.. This led me to the conclusion the tape didnt need to be on there .. So i Tried Without the tape I just pressed the tape on the battery and my screen worked much better but it still is glitchy

(I also tried cleaning the connectors off with a napkin)

My questions are

1. Can this tape be torn off will it damage anything..

2. Do i just need to let the screen calibrate. ?

3. If something touches the BACK of The digitizer. Does that affect the touch.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

1. The copper tape is there to ground the front flex. It is not related to touch. It should not be ripped off, but stuck back how it was, to the metal backing.

2. No. There is no calibration

3. No, thats actually the back of the LCD

It sounds like you have one of two problems. Either A) The screen is faulty, which is common with cheap screens, or B) the board has an issue This could range from a fracture in a solder ball under a touch IC, or a damaged digitiser connector end, which i see every week after screen replacement.

Try another screen if possible (Your original screen?) and if the touch still isn't working correctly, its time to send it off to someone for board level diagnosis or repair. There's a link on my profile that can help you locate an experienced board repair tech near you
