Can I bypass the sata components

can I bypass the SATA components on the hard drive of the Dell 4600 and converted to booting to a regular hard drive that operates with the regular cables

On page 77 of the Owner's Manual, the system does support an IDE connection for a hard drive, if this is what you are referring to as regular cables.

If you plan on disconnecting the current SATA drive cables and adding an IDE and cable, page 82 explains how you can add a secondary hard drive.
