Doesn't detect charger connection. Battery is full discharged. Random flicker of the screen as if accepting charge. Then nothing including battery is being xharged

Are you using the original charger? These devices don't like charging from flat otherwise. Another possibility is that the battery has dropped below the 0% mark (3.7v), This is fairly common if it has been left sitting in a flat state

I've heard around that to fix this is to open up the tablet then unplug and plug the battery connector to fix this problem.
