Water Damaged iPhone Screen Wont work After Replacement

Hello,

I had an Iphone 6 that was water damaged. When plugged into the charger it would vibrate every 6 seconds or so. When plugged into my Mac it would recognize it was my Iphone with my name heading etc.

I purchased a replacement digitizer and did a swap on the parts and still nothing. Now my Mac just recognizes that's it's an Iphone, but doesn't mention my name. I tried to update it and restore it, but keep getting an error 53 message. I did some research and found that the error 53 message could be because of a faulty home button connector/plate.

I troubleshooted a bit and thought I got somewhere. I disconnected the battery connector, held down the power button to drain any excess power and reconnected it. I powered on the phone and then had some blue/black lines appear on the screen. No words/ apple icon was visible. I tried doing this again and now the blue lines don't come up anymore. The screen stays blank and my Mac still recognizes the iPhone.

Can anyone help with this? Do you think replacing the plate with home button connector will make the screen work?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Replacing the home button will only make things worse. Is this the original home button? After exposing electronics to water, it's best to clean them with 90 proof isopropyl alcohol. Considering the things you've said, error 53 and blue screen, the phone sounds toast
