USB not working, module already changed!
Hi everyone,
I have a major problem with my Galaxy s6 edge. My phone has fallen and I had to replace the main frame as well as the amoled display.
Now everything works fine but not the USB. I can charge my phone via NFC but not per USB. In case of usb to pc connection there is no reaction at all. I already changed the USB module platine without success. Both coaxial cables works.
A surprising thing: I have an external usb-ir-camera which leads to an short "USB connector connected" and "USB connector removed" due to connecting or removing the camera but the camera itself does not work.
I already did an factory reset and enabled the development function... Now I have no idea what to do next.... All tests in menu *#0*# passed successful but however there is no USB test function.
Does anyone has an idea about fixing the problem?
Thank you very much in advance!
Is this a good question?
Just started crashing and needing all those repairs out of nowhere?
I would make sure all the cables and connectors are secure. Unless it was water damaged, I can't think of why that would happen.

Hi Jake,
thanks for reply! No my phone had a heavy fall (very miserable accident :(( )... The display splintered and the middle frame was damaged. Therefore I had to change both parts. Yesterday I recognized that my old USB board is still ok... The headphone connection works with the old one too (maybe there was a problem with the electric contact) and shows the same reaction due to connecting my external camera. Insight the phone there is no damage visible at all...
The cables are secure... do you think there could be a problem with the battery connection? I recognized that my battery discharge very fast since my accident. Maybe the battery got hurt... maybe there are circuits along the USB and the battery port... ?!
It is quite strange that the USB connector connected message appears when I plug in the camera...

Are you 100% sure that the cables are connected well? The new replacement should work perfect unless your motherboard actually got damaged from the drop...
There looks like two coaxial connections and 1 regular connector coming from the USB port board.

Hi Jake,
I think so, because both ones - the replaced and the old USB board doesn´t work but the cables and the mainboard connector fit perfecty. I think that the cables are OK, I tested the electric current by multimeter... do you think there can be still a problem with the cables even they works?
Hmm.. I thought about a defect main board too (by god please not!!), today I will change the battery component... maybe there is the problem concerning the charging process which immediatly starts during PC connection or - of course - connecting with the power adapter. Otherwise it is a fact and I have to thought about how to connect my android studio adb with my phone...

It is def a weird issue. You are going to have to try different things. I've never seen an issue like this.
