Why is Digitizer not working correctly after replacement?

After replacing my digitizer it is not responding correctly. It's like it's not calibrated properly. When I touch one place it appears somewhere else. I have to touch above or beside where I want to be. Is this a faulty digitizer or is there something else I can do? I tried cleaning the ribbon with ethanol but that didn't help.

Did you possibly miss align the screen or did you clean off all the old bonding tape . There is also the chance you doubled over some of the tape if you used the old tape again. Does the screen look like its sitting completely level in the frame or is there part of the screen sitting above the frame .

I've not put any tape on yet. I was testing it before I stuck it down permanently. Cleaned all the old stuff off before hand. It looks to be sitting in properly and straight. I've checked and double checked everything I can think of.

Two possible issues.

1. The digitizer cable isnt seated properly or could be pinched.

2. You have a bad digitizer.

I'd take it apart and reseat everything. If it's still acting funky, I'd get another digitizer.

Checked that. It has a bend in the ribbon but no splits or tears that I can see. Going to return it and try a different one.
