wont power up with power plugged to it

with the power cord plugged in the light around the plug doesnt come and the laptop doesnt come on

Most Helpful Answer it goes for the whole world..

The problem was that PQ1 was bad. Is located next to the PCN1 "where the power jack connects to the motherboard next to the memory". PQ1 is a P-Channel PowerTrench MOSFET P#: FDS6675BZ. you have to replaced it and the problem has to be solved.

one important thing is that if your not qualify to do this kind of have to pay for somebody else to do it...

I have a C700 that had this same problem except it was the PQ2 chip. I tried to replace it without success. I had read others having luck just bypassing the chip with a jumper. I tried this and the laptop has been running fine now for a couple of months. I would recommend using the correct replacement if possible.

Kindly define that how and where to place jumper to bypass the chip.
