Where is the backlight fuse on my Compaq 15-aoo3sa
basically like an absolute amateur I forgot to take out the battery and I have more than like blown the fuse, where can I find this?

Here is a link to the service manual for your laptop.
I'm wondering, given that I think that you replaced the screen or had something to do with the lid, (you don't say) if the problem might be with the internal display switch, which is located in the lid.
Scroll to p.5 Chapter 2 External component identification, to view its' location and function.
