2008 MacBook Pro backlight not working

Hi,

I have a 2008 macbook pro 15" A1286 with a 820-2330 board but the backlight is not working. Would somebody mind showing me where the backlight fuse is located so I could try replacing that? Thanks

@cmkorkis here is the location for the fuse. it is F9800 and is a 2Amp 32V in a 0402 package. U9701 is the LED driver. This is just to point out your fuse, not to diagnose your backlight circuitry.

Which one would you recommend for attempting to fix the backlight out of the three you highlighted? The LCD cable was missing a pin and I believe that is what blew the backlight if that helps at all. Thanks @oldturkey03

F9800 check for continuity. If you had a pin missing, your connector may be at fault. You have to make sure it is not the cause of the short circuit. The fuses are available at places like digikey.com or mouser.com

Check this site to see how to do that. You test your SMD fuse the same way as pointed out on that site.
