Power cord alternative for hdtv...?

Hi all...

..I recently came across a cheap little hdtv with no power cord. There is a C13 plug married to the back (sorry if that description is off)

, and I lack the appropriate power cord...is there a way to somehow Macgyver the power supply to fit a power cord with two holes, like the ones that charge laptops and the like?

Maybe cutting the end of the cord and somehow making a connection with the wires to the plug?

Mike Hunt, that would leave you with an un-grounded set. Not good considering the amperage and voltages on your power board. If you must try it to verify, cut the ends of the power cord for the power supply, strip the insulation and properly solder the power cable on the board. Un-solder the old power connector of the board. this should be for testing purposes only since most of the time, the connector actually acts as a filter for the power board as well.

You are right, sorry for not editing but I found a cord with a ground wire also - but still not fitting the connector. Right now I have stripped the cord and trying to remove the back of the tv ( I'm having a hard time, the edges of the case holding the lcd seems stuck...no manuals online ) to have better access to the prongs...
