Need help asap please

Have a phone that has music and a video of deceased mom on it. I put sim card in and power up battery, opens fine to the home page but then will not do anything. We are no longer with carrier but I wanted to be able to save stuff to memory card. I have tried different batteries, taking sim card out etc I want to be able to copy stuff off and then have it unlocked or restored to factory settings.

Opens only to home page but will not do anything more, press settings and it opens but when I try to enter settings, does not do anything.

Anyone out there able to help me??????/

THANKS IN advance

If your touchscreen is defective you can always plug a mouse into the phone to unlock it.

You will need one of these:

I have good and bad news. Bad news is, it sounds like your touch screen is no longer functioning. Because the phone will require you to go into settings before you can connect it to your PC you will need that fixed.

Good news is this is a pretty standard repair at any shop. You can look up how to do it yourself there are guides here on iFix it or bring it to a shop and just ask them to copy the data for you at a cost (this should be cheaper then getting the screen replaced).

Hope this helps.
