Why does my PS3slim model Cech-3001Aturns off by itself

When I turn my PS3 slim model cech-3001A it won't show anything on my screen and after a few seconds it will turn of by itself and won't show the red powered off light. In the past at one time the PS3 wouldn't turn on but the disc was in. I bought with ought the power button on the console working so I'd either have to push the eject or power on button on my controller. That wouldn't work one time so I got something to stick in there to push something and make the disc spin and turn it on because I didn't know how to take top cover off. I do now because I found how on this sight. I don't know what to do to fix what's wrong with that I stated in the first sentence at the top. Please help me.
