Understanding different volume buttons for the iPhone 6

Hi iFixit.

I've noticed there are two types of iPhone 6 volume buttons on the market.

Take a look at http://postimg.org/image/9d0ap3lev/

One appears to have a small metal disc on the inside, and other is hollowed out.

What are the differences between these?

Thanks!

The metal disk is used as a spacer. Without it, the button will not make contact with the switch inside the phone. Since it is very hard to remove off of the old button (the glue is very strong), I suggest you buy a button set with the spacers pre-installed.

Hey Oswald. Thanks for the response. What's interesting is that some vendors advertise the buttons without the spacer (at least it's not visible in the photos they post) which is why it appears there are different types.
