Why does my xbox turn red when hooking my a/v wire in?

i ge t hte red light it not a overheat issue casus e it s not even running long enouhg ot get warm if i unplug the a/v it goes away if iplug it back in the red light come s back iv seen this on like 20 consoles now as i repair them
