My iPod turns on and then off.
when my iPod went dead ,so I plugged it in and now it is turning on then going dead (showing the it needs to be plugged in screen) repeatedly.
Is this a good question?

have you tried a different cable? if you have and that didn't work I would suggest a battery change.
