Toshiba Satellite C6550-S5509 USB port malfunctioning/broken

My Toshiba laptop has 2 USB ports on the side. The touchpad has stopped clicking and my space bar has stopped working, so I went out and bought a USB mouse and a USB keyboard. They both worked in both ports for a while, until one of my USB ports stopped recognizing both the mouse and the keyboard, so I can only use one at a time. The USB port that won't work with the USB mouse or keyboard recognizes my flash drive though, so I don't know what's going on. I've tried uninstalling the drivers, taking out the battery, cleaning the USB ports, and even completely resetting my PC. I'm running Windows 10. Thanks ~

Hi,

Toshiba does not support Win10 for your PC. There are no Win10 drivers for download, only Win8.1 Suggest you check in Device Manager and see if there are any red crosses/yellow exclamation marks against any of your hardware items. (You'll probably have to leave in the external mouse to do this). If there are let Windows try to find the drivers for them. If none available. uninstall the device, reboot and let Windows find new hardware. Do one item at a time, get it sorted then move on to the next. If you can't get your touchpad working, for example, make a note of the make and model (info is in Device Manager under pointing devices)and go to the manufacturer's site and see if they have Win10 drivers for it and try that.
