Having trouble with video on new build

I've just finished building my first computer and am having an issue with the video card . The computer just sees it as a random generic card it doesn't identify the card in the device manager. What am I doing wrong?

Have you loaded all the drivers and updated the drivers for motherboard. Motherboard comes with a drivers disk and will need to be loaded after you install your OS. By the way what OS did you install. But what you discribe sounds a lot like drivers not installed yet

you can go to the asus site and download the driver package for the motherboard then put them on a jump stick and install them . Do the same with the video card as you'll need the control center to get the most out of the video card

Thanks that did the trick. I guess it would have been worth my while to have put a dvd player in it
