Need to Replace glass screen on IPAD Mini

I've never worked on apple produces. Mostly kindles. I have a mini that needs the screen replaced it is shattered. Was going to order the kit but I haven't seen any positive comments on successful repairs. How can I tell is this is a generation 1 or 2 or does it matter.

Do the tools that come with the kit meet the needs?

Everything seem to work on the device.

$70.00 is a lot to spend if I can't fix it.

Answer this question I have this problem too

If you don't feel confident in doing the repair then take it to a reputable shop and have them do it for you. The iPad mini is not for the feint of heart when if comes to screen replacement. From backlight issues to phantom touch, there are many things that can go wrong if you aren't careful.

If you are interested in device repair, have a knack at it and not too concerned about things going sideways or are willing to soldier on when they do, then have at 'er.
